Betso SBOX-2RF — Extremely accurate, very compact and affordable time code and word clock generator with RF transmission of time code and status information. SBOX-2RF improves the time code sync precision of its predecessor (the discontinued SBOX-1) while keeping the very easy to use “plug and play” operation control and 1″ OLED display. RF transmission brings wireless continuous jamming of time code with zero ppm error and clear status information of all connected devices to the network by simply clicking a button. Also new for the SBOX-2RF is its very long operational time from a single AA battery.

Product Overview

RF Transmission
Our whole new concept of wireless transmission of time code and status information is ideal for simple on stage workflow control. Each device connected to the network will be continuously jammed from transmitter and on each device you can observe status information of all other devices in the network. The operating range is up to 500m within the line of sight. The RF protocol incorporates frequency hopping spread spectrum technology approach, which ensures robust functionality even in environments with high RF noise. When unit set as receiver is out of the RF range, it keeps generating synced timecode.

All Time Code and Word Clock Formats
The SBOX-2RF can receive, precisely jam or start to generate new time codes of all existing SMPTE time code formats. Also, all commonly used word clock formats are supported, including their pull-up and pull-down options.

Extremely Easy To Use
To use, simply connect the cable with the active time code and leave the rest to SBOX-2RF. The automatic turn-on / jamming function provides the most user-friendly and reliable time code syncing, as the SBOX-2RF will automatically distinguish correct time code format, calibrate internal TCXO to obtain the same time base as your source, and start generating jammed time code. You will find the time code synced to the source within less than 0.5 frame drift, even after two days of continuous use.

Ultra Highly Accurate TCXO
Embedded high precision temperature compensated crystal oscillator TCXO with frequency accuracy of 0.2 ppm is the fundamental piece of hardware for stable and accurate time code and word clock generator. The superior quality of TCXO is best suited for changing environmental conditions where temperatures vary a lot during the day. Even in extreme weather conditions, the SBOX-2RF will keep time codes in sync.

TCXO Calibration
Thanks to our sophisticated software methods, the ultra-highly accurate TCXO can be further calibrated to achieve much better than 0.2 ppm accuracy. These methods can be applied during jamming, when TCXO is calibrated to obtain exactly the same time base as the source of time code. In manufacturing are devices calibrated by GPS atomic clocks. This accuracy is almost impossible to beat, and as you know, accuracy is what TC syncing is all about.

Powering
The SBOX-2RF is powered by one AA battery, which is able to power the device for up to 50 hours of continuous use. This outstanding performance is achieved by a lowering of the display brightness and by switching the display to complete Standby Mode when activity is indicated by blue LED. Supports all battery chemistries.
