Hi Glen,
I somehow missed reading this article all this while. It's wonderful to know Vilmar, and how you started off with such a master. Lucky you!
be well,
-vin
Hi Vin. Agreed.
I think there are several valuable messages in Vilmars' story. Maybe the most import is that we are living (and working) in tomorrow's good ol' days.
Glen
Well, the way the world is going now, it seems tomorrow will always give one the feeling that today is a good ol' day! I also had the great opportunity to spend some time with Rupert Neve back in 1995. He too talked about things in a way that is strikingly similar to Vilmars. I try to live up to it everyday all these years, and with Vilmars' words, gives me a shot in the arm!
Glen, my friend, be well... hope to meet you in 2013 NAB (been a while since 2006, i really want to see you all again!)
I was surprised and delighted to read your story of Vilmers. He was an incredible teacher. I worked with him on two "student" films in the summer of 1973 at TRAFCO. I have fond memories of him and the entire TRAFCO crew. Thank you. Cliff
A wonderful tribute to Vilmars along with so many of your memories. I worked with Vilmars for several years at Alexander Film Company in Colorado Springs and I also have many fond memories of Vilmars and his family. A beautiful article, Glen.
